Braxton Rocha from Hawaii is spear fishing with his friend when a thirteen foot long (13ft) tiger shark bitten his left leg.

He manages to swim back to shore off the northern tip of the Big Island and called for help.

The 27 year-old Rocha was taken by ambulance to Kamehameha Park before being flown by helicopter to North Hawaii Hospital for surgery.

“WOO, I just got attacked by a tiger shark!”
Rocha said in a short vine posted to Instagram, where he pans down to his left leg, exposing a large chunk of his flesh missing from his left thigh.
