Stylist Liz Uy files P11-M suit against Michael Sy Lim of Fashion Pulis

Celebrity stylist Liz Uy filed a libel and slander case against blogger Michael Sy Lim the person behind fashionpulis.com, the case was filed at the Makati City prosecutor's office.

The stylist is suing Mr. Lim for six counts of online libel and one count of grave slander over his article about the actress Maine Mendoza gown at the "Tamang Panahon" event which is recycled according to Mr. Lim blog article post.

The basis for Ms. Uy libel suit is Mr. Lim's offline comment about a recycled or hand-me-down Gucci jacket that Maine Mendoza worn in the Preview Magazine photo shoot in which Ms. Uy is not the stylist of that project. That incident was witnessed by actress Isabelle Daza in which she stand as a witnessed to the case filed.

In an Instagram post Ms. Uy clarified that the gown was only modeled by Actress Kim Chiu during the "Francis Libiran Metrowear Icon" fashion show held at Edsa Shangri-La in 2013.

According to the designer and creator of the gown (Francis Libiran) the gown was bought and paid for by Eat Bulaga Production and the gown has not been worn at any other event by any other celebrity.

Mr. Lim for his part, was saddened by the charges. "Her feelings of being wronged by my post were based on a common truthful observation about her body of work relative to Maine Mendoza of AlDub which many people other than me also pointed out," he said in a statement.

And "Is it a crime for ordinary people, bloggers, showbiz writers and journalists to point out valid observations about those in the public eye?

Mr. Lim called Ms. Uy's move a suppression of press freedom and his lawyer is already considering filing a counter charge for what he called "malicious prosecution."
