Bear attack rips off Chinese boy's arm

Henan province, China, A nine-year-old boy and his grandparents visited a zoo park, one cage with a bear in it caught the eye of the young lad, and being a nice kid, he thought he’d give the bear a bit of a snack he’d brought with him.

The boy, named Lele, hopped over the security rail and put his arm through the bars of the black bear's cage, wanting to feed the bear, this prompted the bear to bite his right arm.  What was left of the limb was later amputated.  Doctors say there no chance it can be re-attached.

No word on whether the bear will be euthanized.  The zoo paid 5,000 yuan hospital fee after his parents complained about the zoo’s lax precautions, according to local media.
