This cute animal produced cube-shaped poop, why?

Wombat and it's cube-shaped poop
This animal is called Wombat native to Australia, a short-legged animal relative of Koala, they are solitary and nocturnal living in underground burrows, they sleep an average of 16 hours a day, living through eating grass and other vegetation.

Wombat's poo's are cubic, not because they have a square-shaped anus, but because of their very long and show digestive process which typically 14 to 18 days that makes their poop so compact, together with their long digestive tract that allow efficient absorption of foods and their large intestine that contains horizontal ridges that might mold the poop into cubes.

The poop also serves as their territorial marked and with its cubic shape it doesn't roll away.
