Hope Elizabeth "Liza" Soberano was born in Santa Clara, California to a Filipino father, John Castillo Soberano, and an American mother, Jacqulyn Elizabeth Hanley, which explain her hybrid looks.

Her career as an actress continues to soar as she will play the role of the iconic Filipino superheroine “Darna” a film adaptation of internationally recognized director Erik Matti.
