Chester Bennington, Linkin Park lead singer 'took his own life'

The platinum selling rock band Linkin Park lost their lead singer Chester Bennington, he was found dead in his home in Palos Verdes Estate in Los Angeles, California. He was just 41.

Chester had 6 children and was married twice, he struggled with drugs and alcohol for years and admittedly considering suicide, he also revealed that he was abused as a child by an older male.

The coroner said, Bennington evidently hanged himself, the singer was close to Soundgarden vocalist Chris Cornell, who also took his own life last May.

One of Linkin Park's founders Mike Shinoda spoke on behalf of the group in a tweet "Shocked and heartbroken,” he tweeted, and the band would issue an official statement.
